In Steel plants, these products are used in critical areas such as electric arc furnaces, basic oxygen converters, ladles, tundish systems, and secondary metallurgy units.

For non-ferrous operations, Champion’s basic refractories are supplied for copper smelting and converting furnaces, anode furnaces, VOD units, zinc processing, and glass melting applications. 

In lime kilns, specialized basic bricks are deployed in high-temperature burning zones where resistance to thermal cycling and chemical attack is essential.

The product range is formulated using high-purity raw materials including magnesia, chrome-bearing compounds, fused magnesia-chrome, graphite, and carbon-bonded systems. Controlled manufacturing and post-firing treatments enhance room temperature strength, reduce permeability, and improve resistance to slag and molten metal penetration.
